The future of the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn will be one of the main topics of discussion at Chartist’s 2016 annual general meeting at Westminster University on 9 July.
Jon Lansman, the driving force behind Labour’s post-Corbyn grassroots movement, Momentum, will be the keynote speaker in a session looking at Labour’s new politics as well why Labour lost last year’s election and how to win next time.
The AGM will come just a fortnight after the EU referendum and the issues of Europe and devolution will be the subject of the second session led by Nia Griffiths, Labour’s shadow secretary of state for Wales.
The future of Chartist itself will be debated in a third session which forms the formal AGM of the Labour left organisation, led by the magazine’s editor Mike davis.
