The ILP has launched a new pamphlet based on its Unbalanced Britain seminar on the housing crisis held in Leeds in March this year.
The 20-page A5 pamphlet brings together contributions from three of the main speakers – Quintin Bradley, Simon Jose and Ellen Robottom – plus a new introduction by Barry Winter and an account of earlier housing struggles in which the ILP and ILPers played a significant role.
Together, these five pieces amount to a compelling call for politicians to address the defining issue of our time.
As Winter writes in the introduction: “It is widely recognised that Britain today faces a severe housing crisis. Our politicians acknowledge something is amiss. Yet the government’s housing policies make matters worse for the majority while serving the interests of the few… Housing should not depend simply on income but on need; the need for a secure basis to raise a family, to enter the world of work and to retire.”
The pamphlet costs £3.50 including post and packing, and can be ordered from our publications page.
