Shadow chancellor Ed Balls will outline his vision of an economy based on co-operative values when he speaks at the Co-operative Party conference next weekend.
Balls will be one of the main speakers at the conference in Edinburgh on 4-6 October. MSP Johann Lamont will talk about how Labour in Scotland is putting co-operative ideas at its heart, while Dame Pauline Green, President of the International Co-operative Alliance, will speak about the global impact of the co-operative movement.
Hundreds of delegates from local co-operative parties and societies will gather to share ideas, listen to co-operative parliamentarians and practitioners, get the latest news from the co-op movement and raise the profile of co-operation and mutuality.
The party is again throwing open its conference doors to visitors while official Labour & Co-operative councillors, AMs, MPs and MSPs will be present as ex-officio delegates.
There will be a marketplace of stalls showcasing the best across of the co-operative and Labour movements, plus the Co-op Party’s annual fundraising dinner, and numerous meetings on the conference fringe.
