Compass is organising a series of post-election ‘gatherings’ around the country to discuss the new political landscape and figure out a way forward.
Called Radical Hope, the loosely organised get-togethers will give people a chance to ask what does the left do now, and what gives us hope?
Radical Hope London is being held on Saturday 16 May in E1 Studio Spaces on Pennington Street, just off the Highway near Wapping.
Among the ‘great people’ listed as contributors are Jon Cruddas, Caroline Lucas, Zoe Williams, Sirio Canos, Jeremy Gilbert, Yuan Yang, Victor Adebowale, John Harris, Gerry Hassan, Ruth Lister and Deborah Grayson.
There will be a number ‘open spaces’ and small group discussions for which you can suggest themes and topics, plus food, a bar and a ‘radical hope pop-up museum’. You can get tickets here.
Other Radical Hope gatherings organised so far include:
Birmingham: Thursday 21 May with Ruth Lister & Yasmin Ali
Liverpool: Thursday 4 June in collaboration with Liverpool University
Taunton: Saturday 30 May
Bristol: date tbc.
Other dates and venues will be added to the list in the coming weeks while supporters can contact Compass if they want to help organise a gathering in their town.
